If you arrive from outside the truck life, a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado might not hit you as the type of vehicle one would take down the overpowered induction route. Then again, the aftermarket possibilities for such cars have been developing for quite a while now, with the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado we have here being an illustration as reliable as any.
The build originates from Late Model Racecraft, a Texas specialist declaring the beast is the first of its kind, particularly the first to be exerted this far. What does that really mean though?
The 2019 Chevy is an all-new model and this model is powered by the 6.2-liter V8. Though the engine has kept its naturally aspirated nature behind, being fitted with a Procharger.
With all that being said, the engine has been gifted with custom drop-in pistons, an offensive cam setup coming from Cam Motions, and American Racing Headers hardware. Oh, and gratitude to the Borla exhaust, that V8 can now fully reveal its sensations and emotions.
Applying a conventional tune and up to 9 lbs of boost, the 6.2-liter V8 now produces around 600 hp to the rear wheels, which makes for around 700 horses at the crank, the stock only be able to push about 420 at the crank.
At the moment, as the tuner explains in the video here, the E90 ECU didn’t specifically show a tuning-friendly quality, but this matter has been approached. Nonetheless, we can’t say the exact same thing about the Transmission Control Module and while the ten-speed automatic transmission looks to handle the extra power, being able to edit it differently should enhance drivability.
If you occur to be in a rush, you can skip to the 10:20 point of the video for the dyno run, while the 18:26 stamp displays a quick-rolling race versus a stock Silverado.
As for all the chrome figured to the exterior of the Chevy, this polarizing piece of art is a distinctive vehicle being also road-legal.
The beast of a truck should be really scary on the track as well in its category and any truck driver that attends the track with soft tunes and small engines should fear of this Chevy, and if anyone tries to drag next to this beast, should pack some serious horses under the hood.
