850 HP Henessy Corvette Sounds Like a Demon on Track

If you need a car that goes fast made to go even faster, Hennessey Performance is the way to go. After all, the Hennessey Venom GT was formerly the world’s fastest road-legal car, so these people must know exactly what they’re doing.

Hennessey will be able to deliver higher power to any kind of car, from a truck to a small sports car and absolutely everything in between, and it’ll do it with magnificent results. And they don’t all have to be one of the brand new cars, as this HPE850 Corvette Z06 surely displays.

The Z06 was launched all the way back in 2014 and determined to be a very competent sports car in its own right. It carried a 376ci (6.2-liter) supercharged V8 engine with 650 horsepower and extensive amounts of torque 881 Nm for something scaling just 3,524 lbs 1,598 kg. That implied zero to sixty took 3.8 seconds and the Z06 would proceed to accelerate all the way up to 196 mph.

By analogy to other Hennessey vehicles, the HPE850 Corvette Z06 is quite a submissive car All that, until you hear the sound this beast makes at full throttle because you’ll then quickly find another attribute to define it. Pitiless. Brutal. Some would say even obnoxious, depending on where and when they would hear the extreme roar of the V8 and the infectious cackling coming out from the exhaust.

As the name implies, the HPE850 adds 200 horsepower to the Z06’s 650 while also increasing its torque figure to 968 Nm. This translates to a visible improvement of the car’s acceleration, cutting the 0-60 mph time to just 2.6 seconds and securing 10.3 seconds quarter-mile runs.

If you’re curious in what exactly makes an HPE850 distinctive from a regular Chevrolet Corvette Z06, you’ll find out that it’s the unusual list of performance-oriented modifications: All the components receive upgrades, and we’d be surprised if the supercharger was left untouched. Graphically, Hennessey went the discreet route and only figured a few badges and some interior trim details, making the HPE850 the sleeper you wouldn’t fancy to come across at a drag strip.

There’s no report on the price though, but Hennessey products don’t come cheap. Particularly not those that are bounded to 100 units available and come with a two-year/24,000 miles limited warranty added. If you’re still not satisfied, turn the sound up and hit that play on the video.
