ABT Audi A1 – The 400 Horsepower Firecracker

ABT Audi A1 - 400 Horsepower Firecracker

This car is very similar to the same generation Mercedes-AMG A 45 but pack less of a punch. It is still one impressive piece of manufacturing from ABT’s part, managing to squeeze 400 horsepower from just a 2.0-liter engine.

Car enthusiasts are going to see this as a new opportunity for small car racers to get back in the game with both the A1 from ABT and the A45 from Renntech being released at almost the same time.

Not content with expecting a performance version of the Audi A1, ABT recently proclaimed a one-of-one tuning package. The ABT A1 “1of1” was engineered for Daniel ABT, ABT racing driver, and therefore the son of owner and principal of the ABT Sportsline team, Hans-Jürgen ABT. the ultimate firecracker features a unique set of updates.

The ABT A1 is fitted with a custom-made  ABT body kit. the look is clearly inspired by DTM with the new front bumper, incorporating a deep front splitter and a brand new set of air intake surrounds and multiple canard-style air channels. The fenders receive a bolt overlook, widening the bodywork considerably. there’s a brand new bonnet, side skirt, and mirror coverings. At the rear, ABT has fitted a huge rear spoiler alongside a brand new rear diffuser.

The package is finished with a brand new set of wheels. The 19-inch ABT ER-F forged wheels are finished in black and receive a set of internally mounted golden aero-rings, reminiscent of ABT’s Formula E automobile.

Based upon the 40 TFSI model, ABT has breathed new life into the 2.0-liter TFSI engine. how have they managed to get 400 hp? the explanation is difficult because ABT has, in fact, switched the engine from a regular 2.0-liter TFSI to some 2.0 liter TFSI, likely with sport elements.

Still, should you want to possess your own version, ABT can happily forego the engine transplant and fit a set of modest performance enhancements, with a brand new stainless steel exhaust system and 114-millimeter tailpipes, booting power to 240 horsepower.

The “1of1” is complete with a set of H & R suspension sprints, rear seat roll bar, and an entire Alcantara interior upgrade. Last but not least, ABT is pleased with the Erik Aleksanjan, geometric pattern designed which they have termed the “polygon split design”. the look was penned by the same man who styled Jon Olsson’s, Audi RS6 Avant!
